The AQF4 Chemical Risk Management Course is an online course for those who have completed their AQF3 and wish to achieve a higher level of accreditation. It is designed to help managers and supervisors or those who are looking to transition into a management role to develop safe chemical use strategies in the workplace.

This course will teach you the best practice in chemical management with a focus on demonstrating due diligence and due care.

The AQF4 Chemical Risk Management includes two units.

AHCCHM404
Develop procedures to minimise risks in the use of chemicals
AHCCHM405
Plan and implement a chemical use program

Students MUST read the Student Handbook and agree to the Policies

The AQF3 (or equivalent) is a prerequisite for students undertaking the AQF4.
They must have either:

AHCCHM303A Prepare and Apply Chemicals and AHCCHM304A Transport, handle and Store Chemicals

OR

AHCCHM303 Prepare and Apply Chemicals and AHCCHM304 Transport and Store Chemicals

OR

AHCCHM304 Transport and Store Chemicals and AHCCHM307 Prepare and Apply Chemicals to Control Pest, Weeds and Diseases.

Students may be asked to prove their AQF3 competency at enrolment or the course with their SOA or Chemical accreditation Card/ChemCERT Card.

Age and learning Requirements

We require all students to be a minimum of 16 years old and to have a reading level of a year 10 student. If you are unsure of your ability to complete the course we recommend completing our Learning, Literacy and Numeracy Quiz.

Online students will be processed ready for course login by COB, if enrolled before 3pm EST Monday-Fridays only.

Workplace Requirements

  1. Three (3) Chemical labels and SDSs that they use in the workplace
  2. Knowledge of Three (3) pests in their workplace
  3. Access to workplace policies and procedures

Equipment

  1. Camera or Recording Device (camera, smart phone, or tablet device capable of clear images)
  2. Helper to record your performance (or tripod setup)
  3. PPE Respirator with replaceable filters
  4. Manufacturers Instructions
  5. Cleaning Cloth or Respirator Cloth
  6. Perfume or deodorant (to check respirator effectiveness)
  7. Knapsack for calibration exercise
